St. Vincent’s Men’s Group
The St. Vincent’s Men’s Group is an informal gathering of men who are interested in fellowship and sharing their personal
and faith journeys. Although it had its roots in and continues to be associated with the St. Vincent de Paul Community,
membership or attendance at St. Vincent’s is not a requirement for participation in the Men’s Group.
The group meets on the last Friday evening of each month at the home of one of the members beginning at 6:30
with a casual bite to eat and informal conversation. The group then assembles, first to allow individuals to “check in”
and share what may be going on in their lives, and then to have a more focused discussion on a preselected topic
facilitated by a member of the group. Ground rules include confidentiality, a sense of humor and a non-judgmental
receptivity to whatever individuals choose to share. We listen and ask questions, but we don't try to solve people's problems.
The evening ends around 9:00 with a prayer and reimbursement of the host for the food (usually $5).
Although many members have been in the group for years, newcomers are always welcome and there is no obligation
for continued or regular attendance. Any man interested in being added to the email list where meeting notices
are announced should contact Frank Killian at detroitfrank@verizon.net. Come by and try!
