General Intercessions
August 22-23, 2020 – 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time
11:00 Mass – Add “We pray to the Lord.”
Who do we say that Jesus is?
In our Church, may Jesus be the One who teaches us the way of love–a love that suffers, forgives, hopes, and endures.
In our nation, may Jesus be the One who will not let us rest until every person once disregarded is recognized as a valued member of our one human family.
In our parish, may Jesus be the One who gives us the courage to examine ourselves honestly and to dialogue generously, as we strive to become the Beloved Community.
On our streets, may Jesus be the One who inspires us to provide food for those who have lost their jobs, shelter for those who have lost their homes, and sanctuary for all who live in fear.
In our families, may Jesus be the One who walks with us through physical or mental illness, injury, or addiction, and who gathers us home at the end of our days.
