General Intercessions
February 6th-7th, 2021 – 5th Sunday in Ordinary Time/ First Sunday in
Black History Month
If the response is not sung lector adds We pray to God
Oh Divine Creator, on this first Sunday of Black History Month, we humbly
ask you to guide our church community, so that we may strive to become
more diverse and inclusive towards all, and combat systematic racism
within our church. We pray…
God, we ask that you guide our newly elected government, and help them
bring freedom and justice, for good and for all, in accordance with your will.
We pray…
We pray, oh God, during this pandemic, that you might grant your healing
touch to our sick and elderly, as well as those who may struggle to find
happiness in these difficult times, especially those in disproportionately
affected communities of color. We pray…
God, we ask that those who have lost their lives to COVID, police brutality,
and other unjust means, may make their way home to you, and that you
grant their loved ones, justice, peace, and comfort in you, our loving father.
We pray…
Humbly your servant,
Dorina Opferman
